Practical training for agritourism

Main goal:

The aim of this project is acquiring knowledge and skills for agrotourism as an opportunity for employment and self-employment, as well as acquiring skills for organizing of all activities related to the work of an agricultural economy.

With this mobility, the students will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the culture, customs and tradition of the city and the host country.

Activities:

The training will enable the students and the teachers to acquire practical knowledge and skills that will enable them to:

• Apply modern agrotechnical procedures to the cultivation of crops, respecting the principles of ecology and sustainable development

• Apply modern technology in breeding of domestic animals, respecting the principles of ecology and sustainable development

• Develop the skills for horticultural design of a garden of agrotourism economy using traditional horticultural elements

• Develop skills in preparing and serving food, nurturing traditional cuisine and customs

• Organize interesting public-educational events in order to promote the natural beauties of rural Croatia

• Apply the basics of entrepreneurial business and organization of work

• Observe and apply legal regulations on occupational safety and environmental protection.

Students will share the acquired knowledge, skills and experiences with other students, teachers and parents, as well as with interested people who want to deal with agriculture. Under the mentorship of their professors, who will accompany them in this mobility, the acquired knowledge will be practiced in the companies in which they carry out the practical training and on their own agricultural economies, as well as on potential economies and entities that have opportunities for development of agrotourism.

 

Working on implementations of the new curricula in VET Schools together with advisers from VET Centre, the students from VET School wiII be able to work on project knowing better their tradition and cuture, promoting tourisam of the local reagion with the help of the UNESCO teacher kit.

The Association will integrate the knowledge, skills and experiences the students will acquire in the training in Croatia through the following activities:

• The Association will develop a promotional plan for presentation of the results of the training, which will be delivered through the media (participation in radio or TV broadcasts, Facebook page, etc.);

• The Association, in cooperation with teachers from the schools and the VET Center, will develop a program for after-school classes for the school and will offer it to all 10 agricultural schools in Macedonia, as well as to all other interested schools (catering, trade);

• The Association, in cooperation with teachers from the schools and the VET Center, will develop a brochure for Agrotourism that will be available to all interested parties;

• The Association will organize educational workshops for interested farmers and other people on the benefits of the Agrotourism;

• The Association will launch an initiative for preparation of an Adult Education Program for Agrotourism, with the involvement of potential stakeholders (chambers of commerce, entities operating in agrotourism, agricultural associations, etc.);

• The students will exchange experiences with other students in the school, with teachers, parents and others;

• The results of the training will be also exchanged at a meeting with the local community, agricultural associations, individual farmers and others.
